In the outer archipelago of Finland you find the island Borstö. It has been inhabited since 1740 of farmers and fishermen, but there are also stories of shipwreck looting as sideline.
On this island we have designed a museum showing artifacts from the life on Borstö throughout its history. The museum is built with the help of the residents of Borstö using traditional building methods. The house sits on a traditional stone foundation and is constructed of wood. The colors and form of the roof makes it blend in to the existing surroundings of the island.
