Competition Proposal 2019
A wooden apartment block quarter in Kuninkaantammi, Helsinki. The buildings are colorful and articulated in their façades in a way that creates a small-scale and pleasant urban environment. In the competition proposal, the landscape design has also been carefully considered. The courtyards are designed with Finland’s four seasons in mind, functioning well and offering something new in each season.
The buildings are assembled from wooden frame room modules. This modular system is a fast, cost-efficient, and safe way to build multi-storey wooden buildings, since the room modules are constructed and completed indoors at the factory.
