HELST arkkitehdit won the design competition for the Smedsby wooden apartment building in 2021. The Smedsby Trä building by the square is a key part of the new urban landscape. The architectural design is based on a subtle balance between rationality and high-quality spatial solutions.

A wooden apartment block in Kuninkaantammi, Helsinki. The buildings are colorful, and the façades are segmented to create a small-scale, pleasant urban environment. The competition proposal also includes carefully designed landscape architecture, aimed at enhancing resident comfort and community spirit.
