Villa W

This house is designed on a small plot in Laajasalo, Helsinki. The family wanted a unique home that simultaneously provided all the necessary functions.

We proposed a compact two-story house along with a lower section for the sauna area, where the flat roof becomes a terrace connected to the upstairs living room and master bedroom. The floor plan creates a flow through the house, where new impressions and views open up in several stages. The living room is defined by its double-height ceiling, the staircase leading to the upper floor, and the fireplace decorated with handmade tiles.

Through careful site analysis, we were able to design the house with large glass sections that ensure privacy from neighbors, creating a bright and open home despite the small plot.
